Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra on Thursday mentioned he’s “actually humbled” and “honoured” after carrying the Olympic torch forward of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, describing it as an emblem of unity and perseverance.

The Winter Olympics start on Friday at Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in Italy.

“Honoured to hold the Olympic flame at @milanocortina26. An emblem of unity, perseverance, and shared human aspiration,” Bindra wrote on ‘X’ together with just a few footage taken on a wet day.

Bindra, a gold winner within the 10m air rifle occasion within the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was chosen as one of many torch-bearers in October final 12 months.

The Winter Olympics will conclude on February 22, 2026.
