After a 30-minute bus trip from Pisa, I arrived in Lucca and walked by means of the town’s Renaissance-era partitions into the historic middle.
I discovered it to be the proper place to wander in December, and since many roads had been blocked off to automobiles, it felt very peaceable.
Throughout the partitions, there are Romanesque church buildings and placing medieval towers. I began at Guinigi Tower, the place guests can climb to the highest for panoramic views of terracotta rooftops and rolling Tuscan hills.
Afterward, I wandered alongside the town partitions, the place I admired colourful murals, and dined at Osteria da Pasqualino, the place I loved fettuccine with cream of zucchini and prawns with lemon, together with an afternoon glass of wine in a gorgeous courtyard.
Clothes outlets and gelaterias encompass Lucca’s charming squares. Once I was there, there have been hardly any crowds, and the town felt cinematic.
