Salesforce cofounder Parker Harris addressed the controversy over CEO Marc Benioff’s ICE jokes in an inside assembly, saying he was “not OK with it,” Enterprise Insider has realized.
“Marc made a really unhealthy joke,” Harris, who’s the corporate’s chief technical officer, stated. “However that is one thing that Marc did, and I am not gonna name him out in public out on the web.”
A transcript of Harris’ remarks at a gathering of the product and tech staff final week was posted by an worker to a Slack channel. Enterprise Insider verified that the transcript was correct.
Salesforce didn’t reply to a request for remark. Benioff has not spoken concerning the jokes or the corporate’s response to them.

In his assembly, Harris started by addressing a query about why many firm leaders had not addressed Benioff’s feedback at Salesforce’s employee-only firm kickoff in Las Vegas final Tuesday.
“So I will begin by saying that any individual already has, and it was instantly leaked,” Harris stated, referring to a Business Insider story about one other government who criticized Benioff’s jokes.
“Let’s speak about it with one another and never out to Enterprise Insider and different locations as a result of it does not do us any good,” he stated, including, “It is a violation of the Code of Conduct, and it is a fireable offense. And if we do catch you, we’ll fireplace you.”

Craig Broscow, a Salesforce VP, acknowledged the “deep disappointment” in his personal Slack message after the kickoff remarks.

Chatting with his staff, Harris stated Seaman acquired in scorching water for his submit.
